Today is day 2 of BHM and today’s feature is Zelda Wynn Valdes.

Born June 28, 1905 in Chambersburg PA, Zelda is famous for creating the playboy bunny costume as well as Jackie Kennedy’s wedding dress. She started her career in the fashion industry by working in her uncle’s White Plains, NY tailor shop. In 1948, she opened her own boutique in Manhattan. Her designs were worn by many famous entertainers such as Eartha Kitt, Dorthy Dandridge, and Josephine Baker.
